Merit-based scholarships are available to help international students make their SUNY Poly education more affordable, so you can focus on what really matters: learning, growing, and building a future you’ll be proud of.
- First-Year Students: Eligible for up to 4 years of full-time study
- Transfer Students: Eligible for up to 3 years of full-time study

Our International Student Services Office is committed to helping matriculated international students navigate CPT, OPT, and STEM OPT opportunities.
CPT is an alternative work/study, internship, cooperative education or other type of required internship or practicum.
OPT is temporary employment that is directly related to an F-1 student’s major area of study. Eligible students can apply to receive up to 12 months of OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies (pre-completion) and/or after completing their academic studies (post-completion).
F-1 students who receive science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) degrees may apply for a 24-month extension of their post-completion optional practical training (OPT).
