Current eleventh and twelfth grade high school students are invited to participate in SUNY Poly Shadow Days. Students must be at least 16 years of age to participate in the program, as well. Students who are age 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of their time on campus for the program. Students who are age 17 or older do not need to attend with a parent or legal guardian, but can! All student participants are required to submit a permission slip upon check in.

High school students shadow their SUNY Poly hosts for one day. This includes: shadowing a current student in a major of interest to all of their classes, enjoying lunch in The Dish, our campus dining center, exploring our campus, connecting with other SUNY Poly students, and meeting SUNY Poly faculty.

All Shadow Day experiences are hosted at SUNY Poly, located at 100 Seymour Road, Utica, NY 13502. There are 9 available date options for students to choose from: February 24, 25, 26 + March 24, 25, 26 + April 14, 15, 16. Students who attend the program will be provided with a note for a legal absence, as this is considered a college visit.

Students who wish to participate in the Shadow Day program are encouraged to scroll through the college students registered to host. Once a SUNY Poly student is identified by you, you will see their availability to come shadow. A link will appear next to their section to take you to a new page to register. The registration process includes a few questions about you and your college plans.

The deadline for students to register for the experince experience is three days prior to the start date.
